Nakuru: Boost for Kinyanjui as Luo voters endorse him

In a span of two weeks the Luo community living in Nakuru County have been engaging with various political players in as far as the gubernatorial seat is concerned.

A fortnight ago incumbent Governor Lee Kinyanjui (pictured) invited the Luo nation for a consultative meeting at his private offices in Milimani Estate.

Over 500 Luo community professionals, business people, religious leaders and political leaders had an opportunity to engage with the Governor on pertinent issues affecting the community at large.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by both parties and the Luos Kinyanjui of their full support in his bid for a second term.

Kinyanjui’s government currently has a Luo CEC for Sports and Gender as a result of the handshake between Azimio La Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate, Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking to, members of the Luo community dismissed a purported meeting at Hotel Kunste convened by United Democratic Alliance (UDA) gubernatorial candidate, Susan Kihika where the attendees pledged to back her bid.

They said the attendees were imposters, noting that Kihika andUDA presidential candidate Willam Ruto have been abusing Baba every moment they get the airwaves.
