Uhuru:
Raila is the 5th President of Kenya
President Uhuru Kenyatta has
declared that ODM leader Raila Odinga will be the 5th President of
the Republic of Kenya.
Addressing opinion leaders from
the Mt Kenya region at the Sagana State Lodge, the president told voters in the
region to elect Raila in the August 9 poll.

14:16: President Uhuru
endorses Raila but at the same time states that if Deputy President William
Ruto toes the line in future he would be willing to support him.
14:14 : President Uhuru
Kenyatta endorses Raila Odinga stating: "What an old man can see sitting a
small boy will not see standing on top of a tree. Let's hold the old man's hand
and if the other young man also reforms at some point in the future, I have not
stopped anyone from supporting him".
14:09 : Uhuru declares support
for small political parties that have been formed in the Mt Kenya region. He
acknowledged that the leaders are afraid of joining big parties because of what
happened to small parties in 2017. He urges the small parties to join the
coalition which is supporting Raila Odinga.
14:02 : President Uhuru
says he will leave the government to Raila Odinga's hands. The crowd goes into
a frenzy as the President adds that he will give him an economy of Ksh13
trillion.
13:59 : Uhuru Kenyatta
states that the Arror and Kimwarer Dam billions were used to fund political
careers and distributed in churches as part of fundraisers. He adds that church
leaders have been taking the proceeds of crime to defend the said thieves.
"You cant be given money
that is proceeds of crime from funds that were supposed to construct dams...
you are carrying bibles here and lying to the congregation because of Ksh2
million. You will go to hell," Uhuru states.
13:53 : The President
addresses the BBI and claims that he was seeking a comeback in government with
the BBI. He thanks the Mt Kenya region for voting for him and states that he is
ready to go home after his term is over.
13:49 : Uhuru states DP
Ruto lied that he was not aware of the handshake. The President tells Sagana
III that the DP was very aware of the meeting and he was the last person he
spoke to before meeting ODM leader Raila Odinga.
13:47 : President Uhuru
claims he used his own money to settle affected families after the contested
elections.
"Where were those people
when our people were being displaced. Where was I when I was pleading with my
people not to revenge? I even had to use my money and funds from my friends to
resettle our people so that they would not revenge," he states.
13:45: President Uhuru
Kenyatta hits out at his opponents claiming that they are the same people who
destroyed the tea and coffee industries. "Those who destroyed your
livelihoods in tea and coffee are the ones who are telling you that you are
hustlers."
13:40: President Uhuru
clarifies that he did not call for the meeting to insult his opponents and
critics as it was highly publicized.
13:36 : The head of PDU
Andrew Wakahiu asks President Uhuru Kenyatta to allow State officials to deal
with Deputy President William Ruto. "For us, we are not politicians but we
are asking you as our boss to grant us permission to deal with those who have
been attacking from car rooftops."
"Do not answer them they
are not on your level. Allow us to give them uppercuts," he stated.
13:03 : Wakahiu introduces
Anthony Muthungu, Founder of Kenya's first USB cable manufacturing company, to
President Kenyatta. Wakahiu also tells Uhuru the role he played in enabling
Muthungu to set up his business.

Delivery Unit Head Andrew Wakahiu is taking attendants through various Jubilee
projects.
12:48 : President Uhuru
Kenyatta has kicked off his Sagana III meeting by declaring that this is his
day and he will showcase to Mt Kenya what he has achieved.
12:47 : The President
states he had initially invited a few people for the meeting but when he was
informed that a huge crowd had shown up he directed his team to open the gates
for everyone.
12:45 : President Uhuru
Kenyatta has told off those who claimed Jubilee Party was finished. He has
challenged them to look at the size of the crowd that showed up for his meeting
at Sagana.
12:40 : President Kenyatta
has requested attendees of the Sagana III meeting to allow him to address the
congregation in Kikuyu.

Kiraitu Murungi arrive at the much-publicised Sagana III meeting convened by
President Kenyatta.

11.20 : President Uhuru
Kenyatta's security team made last-minute changes during the Sagana 3 meeting
at Sagana State Lounge.
On Wednesday, February 23, the
security team was directed to allow members of the public who flocked
to the highly guarded facility without invitation cards.
Thousands of people started
arriving at the event as early as 4am causing a major traffic snarl-up, as
those who did not have invitation cards were locked out.
By around 11am, those locked
outside the gate were estimated to be around 5,000 promoting the organizers to
allow them in, a development which also caused delays on the schedule.
The President was expected to
start his speech at 11am, but the organizers delayed the address to allow more
time to accommodate the gatecrashers.
11:00 : Delegates arrive
at the Sagana State Lodge ahead of the Sagana III meeting. Attendees were
served breakfast before they proceeded to the sitting area.
