Stop peddling lies, Azimio leaders tell Ruto

Azimio
La Umoja Movement leaders have
accused Deputy President William Ruto of peddling lies to the masses with the
aim of taking credit for government programmes
which they claim he has been sabotaging.
Speaking
in Siaya County during a whirlwind tour of the county, the leaders led by the
Deputy Party Leader of ODM, Mombasa governor Hassan Joho accused Ruto of
dishonesty and deceit, saying he has no
locus standi to claim credit of what he never was part of.
They
said Ruto has developed a habit of being disrespectful to the President by
persistently engaging him in public and calling him names.
“Ruto
is a bad man. He has no qualities of a leader. He thinks Presidency is his
birthright, he must know there are men and women out here who can do better
than him,” said Joho.
The
governor told the Deputy President to desist from insulting and daring the head
of state.
“If he cannot respect the President now, we
are going to force him to do so,” he told a charged crowd at Siaya Stadium.
He said
whereas the ODM leader Raila Odinga was busy selling his policies and speaking
to the people about what he will do for them when elected President on the 9th
of August this year, the Deputy President was busy flexing his muscles by
branding people’s names and spreading baseless propaganda.
“Raila
is talking about how will make the economy grow, improve the working conditions
to enable small scale traders prosper and strengthen devolution for better
service delivery while Ruto is chest-thumping about projects he has never been
part of,” charged Joho.
National
Assembly Minority Leader and ODM Director of Elections, Junet Mohammed wondered
what kind of leader Ruto will make if what he thrives on is hate and lies.
“Now that he is taking credit of the good
things the Jubilee administration has done, I want to ask him if he also takes
credit in the theft of money meant for Arror and Kimwarer dams, maize scandal
and other scandals that he is associated with”.
Junet
said Kenya needs a sober and mature leader who will accelerate it to greater
heights of development for the betterment of the lives of every Kenyan.
“Raila
Odinga fits the bill. He has proven to be caring and understanding and we ought
to support him to become the fifth President of Kenya” he added.
He told
the people of Nyanza to remain steadfast in the ODM party if they want Raila to
become President and lead the nation comfortably.
“I want
you people to be solid in the ODM party. Even the leaders in other parties like
my friend David Ochien’g’ of Ugenya should fold and rejoin the ODM”, he said.
Siaya Senator
James Orengo said he is confident that Raila will win the Presidency in August
this year and urged the people of Nyanza to turn out in large numbers to vote
for him.
