Sakaja to do Ruto’s bidding at Senate
Deputy President William Ruto has picked Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja (pictured above) as the man to move the amendments on Political Parties Bill in the DSenate.
Sakaja who was elected on Jubilee ticket has been identified as the man to use (and dump) in this mission.
Remember Ruto has other "home" boys in the Senate such as lawyers Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo/Marakwet) and Samson Cherargei (Nandi) who he would use to block the Bill.
But just like he used Mt Kenya MPs to try derailing the process, he is using young Sakaja for the job as his Rift Valley lieutenants stand back.
Confirmed reports say Sakaja has asked Karen for Sh30 million to whip and mobilise the relevant Senators.
The DP has met Sakaja towards that end.
Proposed amendments have been prepared by the DP and a team of lawyers and the ground is set for another showdown.
Sakaja belongs to Musalia Mudavadi's political wing or so he purports.
Musalia has already supported the Bill.
