Why Ruto won’t pick Rigathi running mate
By Correspondent
It is sad news for supporters
of Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua since Deputy President William Ruto will not pick
him his running mate.
Reliable sources told thingira.org that Ruto’s chances of appointing Rigathi as
his deputy are remote.
One reason is that the Mathira
MP is not a team player and has been pushing perceived competition out of
Ruto's eye-view.
The sources revealed that
Rigathi was even punched by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria at Runda Pub opposite
Two Rivers when he called him 'muthini
uyu' (poor man) after Ruto paid part of his house mortgage to keep
auctioneers at bay.
Kuria was also eyeing the
running mate slot before falling out with Ruto.
In any case, Kiambu has highest
number of voters among Gema (about 1.3 million voters) and that is the place he
would fetch his deputy from and would prefer a middle-of-the-road operator, a
safer pair of hands, who would not be perceived as a condescending threat by
anybody.
That would keep the electorate
focused on Ruto as a person.
That is how politics work.
Were he to tap the former Kiambaa
and Molo DO, he knows very well that he, Rigathi alias Ringa!thi, would
immediately start preparing to succeed him, making resolute arrangements to
become a president.
As the saying goes: What goes
around, comes around!
