Its medicine, not wheelbarrow, for MP Wahome’s daughter
Kandara MP Alice Wahome showered
praises on her daughter after graduating with a Masters in Medicine -
Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Nairobi (UoN).
The MP, a close ally of Deputy
President William Ruto has however been encouraging other Kenyan children to
take the wheelbarrow and do menial jobs.
But taking to her social media
pages, an elated Wahome congratulated her daughter for defying the odds to
clinch her masters and went on to encourage other girls to study and achieve
their dreams.
"As a woman leader who
believes that there are equal opportunities for both the boy and the girl
child, I can say that you’ve really done us proud and you’ve set a great
example. God bless you in your future endeavors Nyawira.
To every girl out there who has
a dream, there are no limits. Go out there and conquer the world!" Wahome
exclaimed.
Nyawira was one of the 6,400
graduands who were given the power to read at the University on Friday,
December 17.
Speaking during the graduation
ceremony, UoN Chancellor Dr. Vijoo Rattansi urged graduands not to compare
themselves with others.
"As you go into the world, arm yourself with the wisdom
of the popcorn. All of them are placed in the same pot under the same condition
but pop differently.
"In this cycle of life, don’t compare yourself to
others. You may not walk into a job right away or stumble across an idea that
will not only benefit you but change the world but assuredly I say unto you,
your time to pop is coming," she added.
A number of other Higher
learning institutions also held their graduation on Friday, December 17
including; Moi, Kabarak, and Kenyatta Universities.
Some of the known personalities who graduated from
various Institutions on Friday include; Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter,
Former K24 TV news
