Bishop Peter Njenga leads Azimio team to pick Raila’s running mate

ODM Party Leader and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga (pictured) has appointed a 7-member panel that will be tasked with assisting and advising him regarding the nomination of his running mate.

Speaking at a press briefing, Azimio Council secretary-general Junet Mohammed revealed the names of the panel members.

 Junet stated that the panel constitutes clergymen and representatives of various political parties that constitute the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance.

"In consultation with the Coalition Council, Raila Amolo Odinga has appointed the following panel members to assist and advise him regarding the nomination of the party's Deputy Presidential Candidate: Bishop Peter Njenga, Archbishop Zacchaeus Okoth, Senator Enoch Kiio Wambua, Michael Orwa, Dr Noah Wekesa, Sheikh Mohamed Khalifa and Mrs Beatrice Askul Moe," Junet stated.

Junet further stated that the panel, whose secretary will be Elizabeth Meyo, will reach its decision through consensus and shall elect its chairperson.

The panel is expected to submit the name of the Deputy President candidate on or before May 10, 2022.
