Details have emerged of an
intricate plan by Deputy President William Ruto to interfere with the August
9th presidential election in at least nine counties across the country, using
County Elections Managers (CEMs).
This comes a week after Ruto's
Chief of Staff Davis Chirchir (pictured) was adversely mentioned after his digital
footprints were found in the commissions servers.
According to sources close to Independent
Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Chirchir who was the Jubilee
Party's Chief Agent during the 2017 presidential election, had attempted to
gain unauthorised access to the IEBC's data.
In the latest report, Chirchir
has identified nine counties they intend to use as a launching pad for rigging
the presidential election in favour of Ruto.
The earmarked counties include:
Nairobi where they have picked a Mr Albert Gogo, Kajiado; Irene Mutai,
Kirinyaga; Jane Gitonga, Nakuru; Joseph Melee, Bungoma; Grace Rono, Narok;
Sidney Namulungu, Elgeyo/Marakwet; Mr. Mutai, Nandi; Silas Rotich and Uasin
Gishu having picked a Mr. Mucheke.
In Kajiado for example,
Chirchir fronted Mrs Irene Mutai Kiage as the County Elections Manager.
Mrs Mutai is the wife of Court
of Appeal Judge Justice Patrick Kiage who declared the BBI a government
initiative leading to the nullification of the process.
Besides, she is also a close friend to Palosha
Tobiko, sister to UDA'S Kajiado gubernatorial candidate Peris Tobiko.
Sources further revealed that
all the nine CEMs involved held a four-hour meeting with the Deputy President- Marjan Hussein Marjan, David Chirchir, Hussein
Mohammed, Johnstone Muthama, Aden Duale and Farouk Kibet on Monday 28th where
their terms of reference were articulated.
