The truth about πŸπŸ—πŸ”πŸ— Kikuyu 𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐑 on Mzee Kenyatta presidency

By C. N Mbugua

The 1969 Kikuyu oath on presidency was solely administered by the Kiambu mafia, a powerful cabal of Kikuyu leaders surrounding Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.

This group comprised the likes of Mbiyu Koinange, Njenga Karume, Njoroge Mungai and Kihika Kimani, to mentiona few and had vowed that the Presidency will never leave Kiambu.

Members of this group hailed from Kiambu County, the home turf of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, or had ancestral roots in the region.

The oath was not taken by the entire Mt. Kenya region which today comprises 11 counties that include Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Nyandarua, Murang’a, Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Nakuru and Laikipia.

The oath was to bind the members to ensure the presidency did not leave Kiambu County, even crossing the Chania River, the boundary between Kiambu and Nyeri.

But in 2002 General Election the oath was rendered null and void when Mwai Kibaki was elected fourth President of the Republic of Kenya.

Kibaki hails from Othaya Constituency in Nyeri County, over 40 kilometres away from River Chania.

President Uhuru Kenyatta from Kiambu supported the retired President Mwai Kibaki from Nyeri in the 2007 General Election and therefore was a witness again when the presidency crossed Chania River for the second time, when Kibaki was re-elected President.

As a Christian you cannot praise God on Sunday and believe in ungodly sacrifices like the 1969 Kikuyu oath.

Now that the Presidency crossed River Chania in 2002 against the tenets of the oath, the other thing remaining is for the Presidency not only to cross the River but go to the Lake, to the Luo community.

President Kenyatta went against that oath in 2007 and he's doing it again in 2022 by supporting ODM leader Raila Odinga, a Luo, for presidency.

He is our champion for dismantling witchcraft and the ungodly sacrifices of ancient times.

Also in the oath Kikuyu women were barred from marrying elsewhere, but well today beautiful Kikuyu women are married in Mombasa, Vihiga, Nandi, Homa Bay and other counties outside Kikuyuland.

It is heart-breaking to see the disrespect that some of our people are showing the President.

What is worse, if that is possible, is the lack of knowledge being demonstrated by people who should know better.

Namely; Uhuru Muigai wa Kenyatta does not derive his leverage from the Presidency.

In 2001, when President Daniel Moi picked him above George Saitoti, Kalonzo Musyoka, Raila Odinga, Katana Ngala, Musalia Mudavadi, William Ruto and Nicholas Biwott, he was not even an elected MP.

Surely, if he had that kind of leverage then, what does he have now after 10 years as President and Commander -In-Chief?

Uhuru Muigai wa Kenyatta did not become the Mount Kenya kingpin because he had ascended to the Presidency.

He was given the Muthiigi wa Ithekanyi (uria wi makundo kenda) BEFORE he became President.

Why are our people (Kikuyu) doomed to make mistakes they saw others making?

What leverage did President Daniel Moi have in 2019 (a full 17 years after leaving office) that caused many who had fought him for years to flock to his Kabarnet home in Nairobi to seek his blessings?

Why then is it assumed that Uhuru Muigai wa Kenyatta, who has not even left office yet, is without leverage?

Who shall talk to our young people gently and quietly and ask them to learn from history or be doomed to repeat it?
