Jubilee Party nominated MP Maina Kamanda (pictured) has revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta will lead ODM leader Raila Odinga’s presidential campaigns in the vote rich Mount Kenya region.

Speaking during an interview with a local television station, Kamanda said he was not planning to retire from active politics and he was ready to serve the people of Nairobi at a more advanced level as their Senator.
The former Starehe MP revealed that his decision to run for the Senate position was informed by the demand of the people of Nairobi.
He also told the Ruto-led UDA party to get ready for defeat in Nairobi noting that all political seats in the county will be taken by the Azimio la Umoja team.
Following his entry to the contest, Kamanda will now compete against ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna and UDA's Karen Nyamu among other aspirants.
Kamanda said Uhuru will soon start his one-on-one engagement with the people of Mt Kenya region.
He said Uhuru will conduct several rallies in his political backyard to explain to the people his achievement in the region for the last nine years, and to guide them ahead of the August election.
