Azimio la Umoja the key for Kenya’s equitable development
By Agnes Kagure
In a country like ours, the unity that 'Azimio la Umoja' seeks to promote is very important as it sets the pace for all else; equitable development, transparency in government and lays the ground for accountability in leadership.
With a uniform cause for national unity and shared prosperity through transparent processes, everyone will be actively involved in policy formulation and implementation of programmes with our focus being on the end-product that works for all.
It is common knowledge that whenever wananchi feel involved in something, they contribute better and help maintain it because they are part of it.
Also, when we are united not just through our ethnic identities but in our challenges and more importantly, the better future we are working towards achieving, we'll be able to hold our leaders and those in government more accountable for their actions and demand for checks and balances without giving room for ethnic incitements to protect the few rogue ones.
Unity, Transparency, Involvement, and Accountability are the foundational pillars that will hold and sustain the prosperity and development we want to usher in.
Azimio la Umoja is an idea whose time has come, and I am in full support. Inawezekana.
