Gema must give Raila free hand to pick running mate
By Mugo Theuri
It is time the Gema people agree that Kenya belongs to all Kenyans and we have a lot of talent outside the Mt Kenya region.
Just like they have accepted that the presidency can be entrusted with Kenyans outside the region so should they allow the incoming president to pick his deputy from deserving and competent Kenyans from any part of this country.
This sense of entitlement, that because Kiambu and Nyeri have produced presidents then Murang'a must be given the deputy this time, must end.
Kirinyaga, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi, Meru, Laikipia, Nyandarua and Nakuru counties are also part of the Gema community yet they are not laying claim to this nonsense.
If you can trust somebody to be the President of the Republic of Kenya why can't you trust the same person on the small task of nominating a suitable person to deputise him?
